This approach is based on emotional connection and developmental readiness—not training or withdrawal. You’ll deepen your understanding of your child and their needs, thus deepening the attachment.

My perspective is that babies don’t wake up or struggle to fall asleep because they need to be taught how to sleep. Sleeping longer and better isn’t a skill to be taught—it’s a developmental process. We can’t make babies sleep; what we can do is help them regulate and feel calm enough to fall asleep.
When babies wake frequently or find it hard to fall asleep, it's usually because other needs—emotional or physiological—are competing with the need for sleep.
By creating a mindful, well-rounded routine that meets those needs during awake times, we can significantly reduce night wakings, keeping the necessary ones for feeding and for other needs, and turn bedtime into a peaceful and enjoyable experience.
